What Counts as a Correction
We distinguish between three types of post-publication change:
- Correction — A factual error (wrong spec, wrong brand, wrong feature). Marked with a dated correction notice at the top of the affected section.
- Update — New information added because of a successor model, firmware update, or new buyer-feedback data. Reflected in the "Last updated" timestamp.
- Editorial revision — Improvements to clarity, structure, or readability that do not change factual content. Not flagged as corrections.
How We Display Corrections
Verified corrections appear in a dated, highlighted notice at the top of the affected page or section. Example format:
We do not silently rewrite content to hide errors. Transparency is how we keep reader trust.
Severity Levels
- Critical — Affects whether the product is recommended (e.g. wrong brand, wrong model). Page updated within 24 hours. Notice persists 90 days.
- Major — Affects a key feature claim or scoring dimension. Page updated within 3 business days. Notice persists 60 days.
- Minor — Typos, broken links, formatting issues. Fixed silently when discovered.
Legal Removal Requests
We do not remove published reviews on request from brands or PR agencies. We will correct any verifiable factual inaccuracy, but editorial opinion stands. Defamation claims must be submitted in writing with specific factual support; we evaluate each in good faith.
